Weekend Warriors

It was quite the weekend in Chicago.  First, the weather was amazing– usually by this time in October we’re already fighting over Snuggies, but I was in shorts and tank tops all weekend.

[insert contented sigh]

Oh and we apologize to all the marathoners that had to push past the 80°+ heat.

Whoops.  Betcha didn’t see that coming when you signed up for a race in Chicago in October, huh?

The marathon was a great excuse for an impromptu blogger meet-up.

Unfortunately, the pictures came out kind of fuzzy.  Check Amy’s blog tomorrow, she might post some photos.

(Total cop-out, I know.  It’s Monday, I gotta ease myself back in!)

Sunday was also an opportunity for some football and bar food.

That’s the…bar.  Actually, we stumbled upon one of our favorite Italian trattorias that happened to be open for lunch with a special game day menu.

That’s what I call bar food.  So much better than actual bar food!

(By the way, the Bears are 4-1, in case anyone was wondering.  No biggie.)

I spent my Friday hosting a little game night.  And game night always goes better with one or two of these:

That’s a serious beer.

Go big or go home.

I pretty much went home, though.

Apparently I forgot to put my game face on.  But it’s cool.  I’m fine with not winning.

Let’s go with that.

Did you run the marathon this weekend or know someone who did?  Did the heat beat you up like I heard it did for a lot of people?

  1. It’s hard to believe that last Sunday I froze my butt off at the start of my marathon and yesterday they were all melting!

  2. Sunday was a perfect beer drinking day. Like, way too perfect. Less so for other things, but we’ll ignore that for now. 😉

Nice to meet you! I swear, I don’t always wear pink compression socks.
