You’ll all be very proud of me.
Today, I did two good things.
Ok, so they weren’t world changing, but they were definitely smart and healthy.
1. I made a great, healthy dinner.
A big ol’ plate of eggs with a ton of veggies (corn, onions, broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes) plus some edamame and a heaping spoonful of Thai chili sauce.
FYI, that chili sauce is hot. I may or may not have dumped it directly into the eggs from the jar, which may or may not have resulted in my sinuses clearing before I even took a bite. Note to self: use a spoon next time. Or not. I’m one of the “some” who like it hot.
With all of the gluttony that tends to rear its ugly head during the month of December, a filling and balanced meal like this was much needed. Speaking of Christmas related gluttony,
2. I bagged my cookie exchange goods.
My co-workers definitely brought their A-games this year for the cookie exchange. There were bars, meringues, brownies and more. The kitchen smelled like buttery, sugary heaven all day and it was all I could do to keep from throwing myself onto the cookie table face first every time I walked back there to refill my water bottle.
But rather than gorge myself all day, I brought a plastic baggie and took one of everything to enjoy at a more…leisurely pace. And I threw a piece of bread in the bag when I got home to keep the goods from going stale too quickly. See, Amy? I listen to what you say!
