This summer has been not the most eventful one of my life.
I’ve gone to some Cubs games.
I’ve sat in the sun.
I’ve overscheduled myself to the point of distraction.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s been a fun summer. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying myself. But I sat down the other day and started to think about whether I’ve done or seen anything new this year.
Well, for one there’s this.
No, not drinking beer. That I’ve had a pretty good handle on.
This is a new brew, though. I went here:
and couldn’t decide what beer to get, so I asked the bartender for any recommendations for an IPA lover.
Apparently, Lagunitas just released a new seasonal, Little Sumpin’ Wild, a variation on their Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’. It’s pretty hoppy (unsurprisingly) with notes of bubble gum. And yes, that sounds a little disgusting, but I promise that it’s delicious.
Find this one this summer if you can.
On a related note, I’ve decided that all bars need to start serving “short” glasses of beer.
I’ve also noticed that I’ve started to love zucchini this summer.
Specifically in things like these zucchini balls.
I don’t know if it’s just that I figured out how I actually like it prepared, but I’m eating a ton of it this year, whereas in years past I have avoided it like the plague.
I’m ok with this development.
A new beer and a new vegetable.
Phew, I live a CRAZY life.
