Last we spoke, it was the middle of April and the year was 2014. It’s been a while. Lots has been going on (good stuff, mostly!) and unfortunately blogging was relegated to the list of things that “I’ll do when I have time”. Which…is never, really. I’ve started to feel the itch to start writing again, though, so I’m back!
I’m probably going to switch things up a bit – less recipes (because sweet beezus do those take a lot of time), more highlights from the week. Probably some pop food and fitness topics mixed in. Definitely a lot of pictures of these maniacs.
So, time for some introductions. This is Chloe:
This is Gus:
Chloe is a perfect angel. I take her on morning runs during the summer and she smells like a teddy bear. Gus is…well, he’s a Gus. His favorite food is baby carrots and he thinks that 55-pounds is within the acceptable weight range for lap dogs. They are my buds, but I promise I will never refer to them as my furchildren.
One major development in my life is that I’ve been in grad school. I’m doing an intensive, “executive” style Master of Science in Communication and will graduate in August. It’s been a pretty intense year, but it’s a really good feeling to know that I waited for the right program to come along and that I have the chance to use my degree to mold my career into something meaningful and fulfilling. it’s a work in progress, but it’s been a really worthwhile year.
Another development worth noting is that I accepted a new position at work and it’s been…a little nutty, to say the least. Like I said, all of these are good things but it does make for some long days and weekends that seem to fly by in a matter of minutes. It’s hard to believe that’s it’s already June and we’ve ditched the scarves and down coats for sandals and shorts!
Speaking of summertime, I’m going to be giving the whole “clean up your diet and stop eating like you’re 18 again” thing the old college try, so I will definitely be sharing good recipes and snack ideas from time to time. Any requests, let me know.
That’s it for now. Don’t be a stranger!
